hi, i’m Rebecca.

I am an interdisciplinary researcher, educator, designer, and writer, passionate about exploring the intersections between public health, ecology, and built environments. By sharing my thoughts and experiences, I hope to inspire curiosity in diverse communities and generate interesting conversations.

Fluent in spanish, portuguese, and english, I have a particular interest in understanding how history shapes landscape, culture, and health in america (the entire Western Hemisphere) and globally.

Throughout my writing and graphic explorations, you will find me advocating for creative approaches to decolonization—of design, research, education, language, and landscape—that have proven useful in promoting justice and sustainability in the 21st century and beyond.

I also believe in the power of carefully planned research to support positive impact. This space serves to share relatively accessible insights from my research work.

In my free time, you can find me running, biking, taking mediocre film photos, painting, practicing yoga, practicing horticulture, traveling, learning new languages, enjoying the company of friends and cats, and completing my PhD.

This collection of words lives alongside my consulting practice to share views into what I’m up to academically and otherwise.
